SPACE CADETS

SPACE FORCE NEEDS YOU!

Who:  Mr. Weiss (and YOU!!)

What:  If we have 10+ participants, we can enter a competition called Cubes in Space.  This competition allows us to design a satellite experiment to be sent to outer space by NASA.  We then get the satellite returned so we can analyze how the experiment worked.  The process takes a whole year, so we need to get started right away.  Also, it looks great on your college applications. Just sayin’.

Where:  For now, Cyberspace, but usually Room 105

When:  Thursday Afternoon from 3:30 to 4:30

Why:  This part is really up to you, but I can give you my reasons.  Humanity has an instinct to explore and understand the space around.  Our planet only has so much space and resources.  It is also, inevitably, going to be impossible for humans to live on Earth forever.  The Sun will explode in 5 billion years whether we like it or not.  That is, if we don’t destroy Earth first.  Eventually humans need to expand to other planets.  Why not get started now?  You never know when the next asteroid or supervolcano will cause the next mass extinction.

How:  Email Mr. Weiss and tell him you are interested.  [email protected]

Looking forward is not enough, we must also look up.
