MY TEACHER PAGE

Hi everyone! My name is Ms. Miers and I am the 12th Grade Government and Economics and Art History teacher. I believe all students have a voice and what better way to use it than through the study of government, economics, and art? I am from the one-square mile town of Bronxville, NY, 10 minutes from Bronxdale, where I went to school from Kindergarten through 12th grade. I received my undergraduate degree in Art History from Princeton University and ran on the track and cross-country teams. After Princeton, I continued my study of art history at Duke University, where I received an MA in Art History specializing in using digital tools to disseminate and visualize art. After Duke, I created educational content for Boulevard, a virtual reality startup that specializes in re-creating museum and cultural spaces, such as the White House and the Library of Congress for schools to “send” their students to these institutions. Initially, I planned on getting a Ph.D. in art history with the dream of working at The Met. However, working in educational technology inspired me to want to teach and engage students directly. I pursued my MA in teaching of social studies at Columbia University’s Teachers College, where I was given the amazing opportunity to student-teach at Bronxdale High School and am now entering year two with this wonderful community!
