Scholarships and Cash Awards

·       Civic Expression Award offers $1,000 scholarships for six students whose art or writing works explore political or social issues.

·       One Earth Award offers $1,000 scholarships for four students whose art or writing address climate change.

·       The Herblock Award for Editorial Cartoon offers $1,000 scholarships for three students whose artworks address current events, social issues, or political topics.

All students in grades 7–12 (ages 13 and up) are eligible to participate and should apply through the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Regional deadlines are as early as December 1, 2021. Students can visit artandwriting.org/scholarships to find out their regional deadlines and how to apply.
