hi everyone my name is Rolanda and I am from the Bronx class of 2019 I'm happy to be talking to you today about my college experience so far I'm currently a sophomore at the gabelli School of Business at Fordham University and the first question that I'm going to answer today is about how a typical day at my school look and I'm actually a Commuter so I don't dorm I travel to and back from school everyday however a typical day for me includes work classes homework and then any clubs that I may have speaking up the club that I am and I'm currently in about three clubs at 4. I am in the commuter Club where I connect with this other commuters this is actually a really good club beat Fordham has a lot of international students go this club allowed me to meet students from my area and those who I can connect with the most because we're going through similar issues that I'm part of is. I'm debating Club just serves as a club to connect me with the people which are also where I come from so I connect with them I'm able to speak in my own language and then we also celebrate a couple of Albanian holidays but due to the pandemic we haven't been able to meet and have our usual life holiday parties and everything that we used to celebrate that had to do with the next question I'll be answering is about my work so I do work two jobs and they both add up to 40 hours a week which is full time so I'm going to school full time and working full-time but I feel like everyone can do it as long as they want to do the first drop that I work at since I graduated from Bronx Tale is Hannah Q Services which deals with the summer youth and winter youth programs that we provide to the school such as Bronx and we actually work with Bronx Tale 2 hire a lot of participants guide them through another thing that I really enjoy doing it so I am able to choose different topics I'm interested in but I also think that high school students are interested in so I'm able to create lessons from those topics and then teach them to students on my work-study job at Fordham University so what I do there is I first entered as like a regular office assistant position you know I was just helping with calls answering emails but now that I'm trying to manage and edit the website which is the sensor that I work for at 4. I'm actually responsible for editing the website and posting so that more people can join our events and stuff like that question that I'm going to answer is actually something that I that I have gotten to do so much in college which is working with peer or working in groups so working in groups is a big part of the gabelli School of Business because when I go out into the business field later on I'm going to have to work in groups oh my school is actually training me for that now and I know that other colleges do even if you're not studying determine because working in groups that start Importance of Being able to adapt to different situations and different people is actually a life that you're going to learn to work with different people and see what it is like to struggle in while working my freshman year at Fordham I I was in this class called the ground floor where we had to work in a group of the same people in that class and come up with a final presentation so we have to work through the whole semester 2 resent on something that that we could have earned a price for so it was actually really important for us to collaborate and make sure that we need enough time to be able to put our best when it comes to similar to that last semester I was involved in the consultant cup challenge so it was a challenge where I was given a team to study for the whole semester I had the same classes with all of my good man so we were always working on the same exact project we had so meet a couple times throughout the second semester to practice our presentation we just was a little challenging because composed of five girls so it's sometimes a lot harder to get along with all of those girls in the same group but we actually we tried our best and put our best foot forward and actually however accomplishing something with esteem is a lot more challenging challenging than it is by yourself because you have to make sure that everyone in that team has the same goals and if one person didn't have this call Aflac pay winning the cops then we wouldn't have made it as far so it's better to work as a team than to work as an individual because as a team there so many ideas on this everyone is different and everyone has something different to bring to the table so it's good when all of those ideas combined to make something even better question is actually about what I like to do on the weekends Spanish traveling so on the weekends I tried to visit as many new places as I can I really like to see new things and learn from everything that I say I also like fashion so I like dressing up taking nice picture for my social media but at the same time I like spending time with family and friends because at the end of the day like that's the time where you actually where you can take any negativity that you have outside of your body because you're socializing people say you got to share thoughts and they get to share their thoughts so you you become more involved next I'll be speaking about the my best message to me that lines such as like Homer deadlines to our presentation deadline for project at work that line so to keep on to make sure that I am on time with everything I have created a calendar on my Google account where I put everything down as soon as I'm aware that something is due on this date I make sure to write it down so on that first day of my semester as soon as I get a syllabus from each Professor I actually goes through it and make sure that all of the dates that are on are also on my calendar and also State what is due on that date so now that I have everything in my calendar I just go to my calendar and look and then whenever I finish a timer Market at dawn or deleted from iCal that's actually the best way for me to keep track of everything that I do and everything that I need to get them now the next question is about what role Bronx Tale played in preparing me for the experiences that I'm going through now play Feel Like Bronx Tale did so well because it taught me first of all to work in as a community is also United that I was like I learned to how to work well with everyone I was surrounded by one cared about me the teachers cared about me which is not the same as in college where professors are to give you individual feedback or an individual level as much as Michael teachers one of the things that I would always ask my teachers whenever I would look at Regents ahead of time is how come we're not learning about this specific topic that was on the Regent but they would always tell me that this school is the prepare you how to enter racked with others and how to build your life skills and you're Street Smart habits that you would need to succeed in life and I feel like I was actually just school that taught me that the most so now I'm able to adapt to different situations different people I work well with everyone I try to understand everyone I manage my time well so I'm actually very thankful that Brownsville is the school it is and focuses on the think that it focuses the next and last question is asking about I miss the most about prankster and honestly the thing that I miss the most is my teachers because I've never had such like amazing and caring teachers in college that sell or General High School teachers but my teachers with Presley we're like the bus like they cared about everything they cared about they didn't only care about how I was doing in school how everything was going with my family they always make sure that everything is going well in my life even with everything that we used to do when we got together as a community such as like the different Halloween party Christmas parties and the Valentine's Day party so I feel like it if I don't get the chance or I don't have the time to do that as much as in college so high school was actually the best time for me to have that time with my teachers than my classmates then enjoy it thank you everyone for listening to this video I'm actually thankful that I get to speak to you about my experience because I know we're coming from the same high school so in one way or there we do have similar things or we will be going on to go through similar things so I hope that wasn't dad Vice or anything that I told you now helps you in one way or another and if you guys do have other questions since you can ask any teacher at your school to get an email that you can contact me at I'll always be here to help you guys and one last piece of advice that I have enjoy high school as much as you can make good relationships with everybody because those are going to last in college as well I have so many teachers that I still speak to especially Marlene and I usually text her all the time but we text for different relationships are much more important than anything else that you can think of in this world
